What Is The Young Actors Company (YAC)?

Part of Steve Ansell’s ScreamingMediaProductions Company (www.screamingmediaproductions.net) The Young Actors Company is a exciting new programme aimed at providing young people interested in the performing arts with diverse high quality project based training and performance opportunities.

What Makes YAC Different From Other Youth Theatre And Performing Arts Groups?

1) Unlike any other weekly youth performance groups, YAC is a totally project based programme providing students with the opportunity to show their work at the end of each ten week term. Projects will cover the full range of performance skills including text, movement and music.
2) Because each term is the start of a new project YAC students will have the opportunity to work with a range of arts professionals from different creative backgrounds (Mask, physical theatre, stand up, tumbling, circus skills, musicians etc.) all under the leadership of YAC Artistic Director Steve Ansell.

How Does It Work?

YAC students meet for three hours a week. Each term lasts for ten weeks with a performance or presentation at the end.
To ensure a high quality experience for all involved YAC membership is limited to 30 people. The Young Actors Company is open to anybody between the ages of 13-21yrs.
